Two different jobs, priced two different ways
A move across town and a move across the country are not the same product, and anyone who prices them the same way is guessing at one of them.
Priced by the hour on crew size and truck. Two movers and a truck is the common shape for an apartment; three or four for a house. You get the hourly rate and an estimate of the hours before we start.

Priced on the weight of your shipment and the distance it travels — the basis every reputable interstate carrier uses, because truck space is subjective and weight is not. We survey first so the estimate is real.

Sometimes the dates do not line up. Your goods come off the truck into a numbered, inventoried vault and come back out when you are ready — same crew, same inventory, nothing lost in between.

“Fully insured” does not mean what most people think
Every mover says it. Here is what is actually on offer, so you can ask the other companies the same question.
The federal default. Pays 60¢ per pound, per article — so a 40lb television is covered for $24 however much it cost. It is free, and if you sign nothing else it is what you have.
Covers what your belongings are actually worth. If something is lost or damaged we repair it, replace it, or settle in cash at current market value — not at sixty cents a pound.
